Cathie Filian and Steve Piacenza demonstrate the way of making medieval candles using tissue paper transfer technique. Steve asks you to first take a piece of tissue paper and a square-shaped chunky stamp. Then you should load the stamp with black pigment. Once the loading is completed, you should cut the tissue paper in square shape and place the shining side on the stamp and give a nice light press with your fingers. Then once you get the stamp image on the tissue, gently take it out and place it on the filing folder. Then he asks you to put the beautiful violet color envase powder on the tissue over the black pigment so that there is no gap at all. Then get the tissue paper out so that there is powder sticking on it where there is pigment and then you should use the envase gun on it. Then Cathie says that she is going to add some more color to the paper. She asks you to take the twinkling H2O, manufactured by a company called luminar. She asks you put the paint brush in water, then moisten the twinkling H2O with it and apply the color on the envased image. Once completely done, let it dry for about 20 minutes and then you should trim around the image perfectly to get the exact image on the paper. Then Steve asks you to place the paper on the candle with the shiny side facing inside. Then you should place the parchment paper over it and hold the candle tightly using the ends of the parchment paper. Then again you should use the envase gun on the candle where there is tissue paper. You can actually see the transfer happening while using the gun on it. Once done, gently take off the parchment paper and the transfer is done. Cathie asks you to put some pins on the sides of the candle to give more medieval look to it. Then she asks you to use a coppery gold colored liquid wax to put some dots on the edges of the transfer to add more look to the candle. Once the entire process is done, you should let it dry for solid 24 hours and your medieval candle is ready.
